Two days to go!

I just wanted to let you know that I'll be putting pictures up on shutterfly (allisonsheamastel.shutterfly.com).

Also, turns out I'm living in a different place than I thought, but that's ok. I'll be at Cite Universitaire, which will also be home to many other study abroad students from all over the world. Hopefully I will get to meet some interesting people that way! It is still in Paris, but not in the 11eme.

That's all for now. One more day in Milwaukee, then off to the airport on Saturday!

Two weeks to go!

Bonjour tout le monde! I decided to create a blog as a record of my study abroad in Europe this summer, and also as a way for you all back home to see what I am up to. I'll do my very best to keep it updates, I have never blogged before so we'll see how it goes!

In just 14 days I will be leaving for Paris, France. I will get to live in the 11eme arroindessement, where the Place de la Bastille and the New Opera are located. I can't wait to get a feel for Parisian life, and I hope that in the two months I spend here I will be able to improve my terrible French and hopefully not stick out too badly as a tourist (although I'm sure my excessive picture-taking will give me away). And, of course, it goes without saying that I am beyond excited to visit all of beautiful architectural precedents in France and any other countries I manage to get to. Needless to say, no other time in my life will I get to have class in places like Notre Dame de Paris. (Also, my professor says that we only need to walk a few blocks from our apartment to get a view of the cathedral. Unbelievable!)

As of now, I have a hard time believing that I will actually be in Europe in just a few weeks. Anyhow, I will do my best to keep this updated with pictures and such, and I promise my next post will be more interesting.
